FAQ
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are designed to enhance the length and thickness of your own eyelashes by individually applying strands of synthetic, semi-permanent eyelashes to your existing natural lash. We use an adhesive to carefully bond each lash to your natural eyelash, one-by-one, to the fullness you desire. Our lashes are essentially weightless and extremely comfortable compared to low quality false lashes that can be heavy and fall off within a few days. The adhesive we use creates a long lasting bond that allows for natural lash growth. Your lashes are left looking flexible and curved to whatever lash style you choose, whether it be boldly dramatic or delicately natural.
How long will a set of eyelash extensions last?
Your extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, which can be up to two months. When your natural lash falls out then so will your attached extension. The amount of time your extensions last will depend on how carefully you care for them. We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 3 weeks.
How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?
Aftercare is key to the longevity of your extensions. The first 24 hours are the most important. We want to make sure your lashes look great and stay on as long as possible so try not to pull, scratch, or rub them. During this time you should avoid direct water on your extensions. Do not use a steam bath, swim, or wash your face with hot water. Also, oil based cleansers can dissolve the bond so it is important to always avoid those products. Keeping your lashes clean and free of particles, lint, dust, dead skin, and pollen are imperative for healthy lashes and extensions. We will educate you on aftercare product application during your initial consultation.
Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?
Yes, after the first 24 hours, go for it. Our adhesive is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. This is part of the beauty in having lash extensions!
Will my natural lashes be damaged?
No. Actually your lashes will become healthier and stronger with a break from mascara and constant curling. Wearing lash extensions forces you to avoid touching your natural eyelashes and pulling them out prematurely, allowing a natural lash life cycle to pass.
Is there anything I should do in preparation for my appointment?
Yes, please remove all eye makeup. Try to avoid caffeine, it will be easier for you to relax. Remember you will be lying down for 1-2 hours. Come tired - naps are encouraged!
How long will my appointment take?
Depending on which service you choose be prepared to be lying down for 45 minutes to 2 and a half hours.
Can the extensions be removed?
Yes, if for any reason you would like to remove your lashes, removal appointments start at $65.
What if I have an allergic reaction?
Allergic reactions to lash extensions are not common. However, if you are allergic to latex, glue, band-aids or have sensitive eyes, please make sure to make us aware upon your arrival. We can do a skin test to check your sensitivity to our adhesive. If you suffer from an allergic reaction after your appointment please call us so we can schedule you for a removal appointment and advise you on symptom relief care.
Can I use makeup with my lash extensions?
Of course. However, we do recommend an eyeliner without oil. Gel and liquid liners can cause buildup and weaken the bond between the lashes and adhesive that can prematurely cause your lash to fall off. Use caution while applying the liner, a powder based liner is recommended. We carry both eyeliner and mascara if you would like to use it on your bottom lashes and lids.
How do I wash my face with lashes on?
Keeping your lashes clean is incredibly important. We find that it's best when you wash your face to spray a wash on each eye and with a clean brush, brush outward and in between the lashes starting at the base. Don't be afraid to get water on them after the first 24 hours.
What is the best way to sleep with my extensions?
We recommend you sleep on your back however, we do offer sleep masks if you turn during the night. It is best to avoid sleeping on your face.
I'm going on vacation and will be in the water, will they last as long?
As we stated before, washing your lashes is important but constant water contact and splashing can cause your extensions to fall off sooner than expected. Chlorine and salt water are harsh ingredients so we recommend washing them off with fresh water when you are done.
Every time I lost a lash extension I had my natural lash attached to it. Is that normal?
Yes, this is the natural shedding process. The cycle of a natural eyelash is 45-90 days. As your natural lashes shed, extensions that are attached will shed with them and new lashes will grow in their place. During heavy shedding cycles, the average person can shed 3-5 lashes a day per eye. Expect 1-3 on a regular basis.
Can a pregnant woman wear lash extensions?
Of course! Our adhesives are of the highest quality available on the market today. They are formaldehyde free, petrochemical free, and latex free.
Are eyelash extensions safe?
Eyelash extensions are completely safe when applied properly by a trained professional.
Will eyelash extensions hurt?
Absolutely not. When applied properly and safely there is no pain involved during the application process or with daily wear.
